More than TCM problem !!
Hi,
i bought audi a4 2001 from auction and after checking the car i found there is no TCM in the car. the carpet next to the TCM was wet and there is a wire burned. so i called audi and i gave them the VIN number so they told me the TCM number is " 8D0927156DF " i bought one from Ebay and put it on the car, i started to see the lights on the gear shift and on the dashboard but when i drove it for seconds when it need to shift from the first to the second it jammed " stopped " in the middle of the road even if i press on the fuel pedal. so i thought it need programmed. i drove the car on the limp mode to the audi dealer ship and paid 300$ for programming and nothing happen it still as is. could be something more than TCM, such as solenoid or relay.
i need help please . thanks

You're going to need to scan for codes.
The TCM part numbers have to match EXACTLY, not a letter or number off, then they are interchangeable and they shouldn't need to be programmed (unless someone modded it with VAG). Since your car didn't have one, it's going to be tough to find the exact one. Did the local Audi dealer tell you it was the correct one when they programmed it?
Since you bought this one off ebay, how did the seller know it was good? Did you verify the part number with the local dealer? While you were at Audi paying $300 to have it programmed, they could've at least scanned the codes for you....or just go to an auto zone and have it done for free.
You should get codes scanned, then it would be easier for one of us to help you further.

thanks for the response. they were not helpful at all in the Audi dealership, he said i should donate the car or if they need to fix it i should leave the car and they will " try " to fix it and that will cost me at least 3000 $. the guy from ebay said he took it from working car and it should work fine. btw i went to a local junkyard and bought another one and i had the same problem. the dealership only gave me the part number which i already mentioned before. i will scan the codes soon and post them here. i appreciate your help. thanks.
Seems like an odd dealership, just throwing out $3k as an estimate?? They need to at least tell you what they think it is, estimate/diagnose for free and then let you decide what to do......I'd stay far away from that dealership.....run.....definitely fits the label of 'stealership'
You could also get your VIN, CALL the audi 800# and see if they give you the same part number for the TCM.....
