Cmshaft position sensor????
I am having a misfire issue on bank 1. I tested the camshaft position sensor at the connection from the ECU it reads about 6v. I ohm'd the sensor itself and it first read 6 ohm's I sprayed some cleaner on the magnets and got all the junk out of it and tested again it then read 10ohm's. After I cleaned it and put it back together Bank 1 seems to be running decent from how it was. I did this before work this morning so didnt have much time to compare each sensor and its dark by the time I get home and VERY cold this time of year in Iowa. I have been searching long and hard(insert innuendo if necessary) and have came up with nothing. If anyone has any insights on this topic that would be greatly appreciated. Replacing the part is not a huge concern for me if it needs to be replaced then I can do that if not why waste the time and money. I have been tracking down the misfire issue on bank 1 for a while now. I will clear codes for the misfires Tomorrow morning and check again once im at work and update if necessary. Thanks in advanced. THE TOAD

You just got a 'taker'......I'm in Des Moines, just moved here, and I don't like the cold!! And that's coming from CO hahahaha...thank god I got a BIG garage and can run a heater......what exactly is your question? You say you have misfires, then talk about the sensor cleaning....is it running rough? describe the problem more...post some codes and we can probably help you....also, year, model, engine would help some too...LOL

Page 51 on this PDF link I believe, this is for an S4, but the G40 sensor is the same:
