Not that I know of. i have the GIAC PC-16 file and I don't think it has a test pipe bypass thing.

Just wondering, would the wrong spring in my DV cause problems? I have the Forge 007 and have the green spring in it. I heard that if you are chipped you should us the yellow one?

Gah... So full of ****.... I think he just likes to see himself post no matter if he's right or wrong. Its starting to get REAL annoying. Id put him on ignore if I didnt think he was going to befeeding a bunch of BS to some other inocent noob who doesnt know any better. In the meantime, Ill speak indirectly to him like this, as if he's not reading it, cuz god knows he never pays attention to anything else we try to tell/help him with.

sorry, i've been neglecting this thread. if you don't have any boost leaks, then your setup seems to be the problem. with PC-16 your ECU's requested boost should be at 22-23psi spike and settle around 20ish. you're obviously not hiting that. no where near it in fact.. your top end is horrible becasue of two things. a FMIC(yes, Kemp_travis does not know what he is talking about in regards to his posts on this), and your stock exhaust.. your turbo is being choked to **** due to this causing horrible flow.. and your IAT's w/ your SMIC are probably through the roof. which is why your ecu is probably retarding timing and lowering it's requested boost..

if you spend $500 on an exhaust and a couple hundred dollars on the EBAY diy FMIC setup, you should hold boost much better than you are..

your other problem is that your TIP [8D]LOL, sorry, just had to throw that in there

oh and in regards to your DV spring. i would put the Yellow spring in there. that is most likely part of the problem

Valve Spring color coding
Green - 5-15 PSI
Yellow - 15-23 PSI
Blue - 23-30 PSI
Red - 30 + PSI

OK cool, thank you for the help. I will be installing the FMIC when I get back to Spokane. I already have the core and I will be getting the piping kit soon to. As for the exhaust I might have to wait on that a little until I find a job up there.

while you wait, just throw on something a little more highflow in the way of a muffler(ie, s4 muffler or gut yours)

militantgrunt over on az runs a full s4moded exhaust on his i think 98 with a ko4

then gut the cat and the muffler, cut out the resinator too, give you a lil more flow

or you could dump say $60 on an autozone muffler

but you know you will not pass emissions with a cel, and i might be mistaken, but your can't get rid of it with giac in anyway

and a code reader clear might not be good enough, it is still "stored" and the diagnosis machine can see it..... my bro in law does that here in mo and he has to know all the rules(at least the way it is here)
