Those gains he is talking about are not real .

You dont get even close to 20HP from chipping a 2.8

Maybe 5-8 WHP if you're lucky .

Have you not learned anything yet?

 

Wow that was an uncalled thing to say. He felt something in the butt dyno and said the torque curve is smoother and better and said that its not really a performance chip its more for cleaner performance. Have YOU not learned anything by reading my posts??

 

wasn't talking about your response liquidxit2,i put a post up week+ ago asking if any 2.8 30v'ers had installed a chip and what they thought of it and i got a response from a 1.8er saying"consensus is,don't bother".how f'n rude from a 1.8'er.and dave 666,your car is a 2.8?.is this topic referring directly to you.i think it was a consumer opinion about the performance and not specific tested hp/tq gain

Why is it that everyone seems to take certain statements so damn seriously? I did not claim such large numbers of HP and TQ, that is upsolute. My main goal was to eliminate the "flat spot" that most 2.8 30V's have. this chip has done just that. The chip has created a smooth torque curve from 1500 RPM to 4000 RPM that once did not exist. I have noticed a tremendous amount of TQ while cruising at highway speeds also. My goal was not to obtain some freakish number that a 1.8T would obviously reach. My goal was to add small amounts of TQ and HP at certain crucial points, and that goal has been obtained. Before I bought this car last year, I looked at a 2003 Acura 3.2 TL type-2, a 2003 BMW 325 xi, a 2001 BMW 540i, a 2001 S4 and my 2001 2.8. I chose my car b/c I had always owned acura's and wanted a change of scenery. I chose the Audi over BMW b/c of their superior quattro system and Audi's perfect interior. I chose the 2.8 over the 2.7T b/c I wanted an engine that would cost less to maintain over a 150,000 to 200,000 mile life span. If I wanted speed and performance i would have gone with the S4 or the 540i, but that was not my ultimate goal. I love my 2.8, and if I wanted tons of HP and TQ, I would purchase a S/C. But right now, the chip from upsolute has been F*****ng awsome, and this was why I posted. I do not want the hastle of owning a turbo, but some of us do not mind and thats their choice.

 

If you want some crazy numbers later f*** the supercharger just twin turbo the 2.8 and get 400 awhp and run mid 12's.

All Im saying is the a chip for a 2.8 DOES NOT give you 18HP and 19TQ .

Just not going to happen , so keep dreaming . If it makes you feel better , then belive it .

 

Yea , maybe an N/A 8 CYL or 12 CYL .


Not a V6 with less then 200 HP . Thats just plain weaksauce.
