Whoa, appreciate all the insight guys! Now, at the risk of sounding like a complete tool... what is a test pipe? And how much power would I get out of it?
To follow up on other things, I already am running synthetic, and really really want that shifter now... but am wondering about the intake as well.
Also, to pull engine codes... will an OBD II scan tool do the trick? I heard you need something fancy to do it... all I know is that my car just threw a code... (im sure its emissions because the car runs flawlessly), and the local dealer charges 80 bucks to pull the code :P so a scan tool might be a good investment... seeing as how there are 3, soon to be 4 1.8T's in our driveway!

Yea you can get a VAG, they are $229 from Ross Tech and you can do all your diagnostic work. Well if your worried about emissions then a test pipe isn't for you, it remove your CAT which is right after your turbo. I just installed mine and posted it on this forum look for TEST PIPE.

 

Im not so much worried about emissions, Im no tree hugger (My other car is a 95 Z28). I am however, worried about the man! Haha, emissions control people are becoming more popular around here, and police are trained to listen for cars with no cats. If they suspect you are running without them, they will pull you over, and check it out. BIG fine if your caught. How noisy is it? How easy is install and removal (every 2 years the cars here have to get emissions tested, so every 2 years I'd need to go back to stock for a day

make your own short shifter and shortened clutch throw. i posted how to do it yourself in the general tech forum. if you cant find it look for "Show posts within.." and select 365 days

 

Hmm, checked out the tech forum, read the short shifter thing. Seems simple enough to follow. It obviously made things shorter, but have you ever driven a B&M or something? So very precise! Just not sure if it is worth spending money... opposd to doing it yourself. The shortened clutch thing, I had no idea what was going on. Maybe I'll print it off, and go out to the car and have a look... then maybe it'll make sense.

Strut tower brace? Any users? Our cars are tight, but why not make 'em tighter? Unless its pointless.

 

If anything the A4 needs some *****, save up for a turbo, thats the biggest big for buck other then chip. What kidna stuff are you running in the trans am
