A newbi question
I just posted this in the newbi section as well but I might have a better responce here. As you can see from my handle I have jeeps and this will be my first car, if i buy it. I just want to know if 5000 is a good price for a 1998 A4? I'm i about to get taken for a ride or what?? Hell if it is a real bad idea call me and talk some sence into me before I drive the hour to look at this car. 757 332-9718

We need to know some more info on the car, What engine, how many miles, good shape, has the Timing Belt been done (Thats a big one! If not it's going to cost you about $800-1200 to have it done or $300 to do it yourself).

Thanks for the replys. It was a 2.8 quattro. I went and looked at it with 3500 and was going to see were it took me but once I got there I could tell that I wouldn't pay 10.00 for it. That car was beat beyond help. The guy claimed to be the 2nd owner but had no maint. records, I'm thinking Auction car. The "autoshift" didnt work along withboth wheel bearing/hub assyemblies going and the list went on.
I will be looking for a better condition one in the future so hopefully I'll be able to post woth you guys soon. thanks again for all the input
