No activity on the coolant temp guage
Just realized today that there is no activity on my coolant temp guage. The meter is below the lowest point at all times regardless of how long I have been driving. However, the coolant warning light never comes on, and the fluid container is full with the audi specified coolant. I recently, got a VAG COM check which revealed that my O2 sensors are gone, so it may be related to that. Any other ideas???

mine does the same thing, i've been told it the temperature sender, or a loose wire on it... i think its located under the throttle body somewhere... i'll get around to replacing it...but im not too worried the oil temp gauge will keep me from doing any real damage

RE: No activity on the coolant temp guage
Update; when I had originally made the post, I had just come back from a long drive and My gas light was on, indicating that I was in my reserves. I thought it might be related....anyways, I just filled the tank and now the coolant guage is working again, instantly. Which is good.......but is this normal or logical? or could there still be issues with my coolant guage?

Please tell me you are looking at the engine temperature guage and not the gas guage when posting about this problem.
No there should be no corelation between how much gas you have and the engine temperature.
