Default Is this normal of an Audi A4??

Hello everyone!

This is my first post and I'll try to make it as brief as possible. I'm a newbie when it comes to Audi. My 2001 Ford Ranger that I had since high school (8yrs) finally died and I got a 2010 Audi a4 2.0T. My question pertains to how my Audi drives, as I'm not sure if it's normal or not.

Issue #1 When I put the audi in reverse and I do NOT apply the breaks, it doesn't move at all. I have to be very, very gentle with the pedal or else it will jerk backwards. My ford would reverse when my foot wasn't on either the break or gas... This doesn't seem normal to me, but then again I don't know.

Issue #2 Kind of the same issue as #1, but it doesn't have much (if any) forward movement when the car is in drive and my foot isn't on the gas or break pedal. Also, I have to be very, very gentle on the gas pedal when in drive or it jerks forward.

These jerking motions aren't very noticeable, but seeing as this is my first nice car, I'm noticing everything about it. The car is a certified pre-owned (3 yr warranty left, 25,000 miles), so fixing it is not an issue. Also, I probably wouldn't have asked this question if it weren't for the fact that I just got a loaner car and it doesn't have any of the aforementioned issues. The only difference is that the loaner is a 2011 audi a4 quattro.

Any adivice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!
