not for the weak hearted.
WOW!!! just when i thought things were getting better they just got 100x's worse. i just got a call from my insurance company saying there gunna claim the car as a total loss. there is no way in hell this car is getting outta my hands just cause of some body damage. this just really sucks casue now i gotta re-buy my own effin car and then fix everything on top of that. not only that but now i just wasted a ****** week and a half with absolutely no work getting done on my car. now this brings up a whole new set of ****** issues cause now the car is gunna have to have a salvage title (there goes any hopes of sellin in the future) and its gunna take a few extra days/ weeks or w/e to get it back on the road. all i gotta say is now it just sucks so much more for the kid that did this cause now he is not getting a single break and im gunna make sure he has the toughest sentence humanly possible.
i had to get that off my chest.....now....anyone ever buy/rebuild a totled car before? im gunna need some advice on what to do as far as thats concerned so anyone thats done it before feel free to chime in with any info.
*btw* im shaking im so effin mad right now.

I have had a rebuilt or salvaged title car before and it is completely not worth it. Take the money insurance is going to give you and get another on or something you like just as much. The reason I say all this is the car is no longer worth, well really anything except to you, insurance will never give you another dime for it as much as you invest into the car, and if you ever decide to move on its hard if not impossible to sell. See if you can take some things from the car (that insurance might not notice) and cut your losses. I know its a shitty situation but you gotta do it.
wait, so are they actually high school kids, because if they are, then where teh hell do you live. i def. dont know any kids that messed up and shady. plus, if i some how was that mean and such an a** hole to beat up a kids car, i would have walked up to you and just started to hit your car and then be like wo, hold on, its and audi, that is too messed up, i mean toyota maybe, but never an audi, they just have no respect. lol.
sorry for your troubbles man, i hope things work out

yeah they are highschool kids and theyre from deer park LI (and soon to be in suffolk corrections).
and as far as what steel said, i hear what your saying and thank you for the advice, but the thing is, that the car is worth something to me personally (kinda long story) and i kno i will almost never be able to sell the car (which i wasnt planning on) but what you said about insurance is the thing thats keeping me hesitant. i kno my current insurance will no longer cover the car..but if i switch companys after the car is fixed, is it insurable? remember my car only has 65,xxx miles on it and the interior is mint. everything mechnically in the car is in great condition and was not harmed at all by this. it just really bothers me to see a car get totled cause of cosmetic dammage that i have no problem replacing, and most of it would have been replaced with aftermarket parts anyway.
i respect your input and thank you, but im sorry i need more opinions(hopefully what i wanna hear). im not being thick headed here, but im sure everyone on the site would do the same if it were their car and it was just cosmetic damage.

Thats why I keep a bat in my trunk. It's never been taken out, though.
There was a fight at an ivy league school (not sayin where), and a frat house jumped a couple of my friends who were visiting. One of my boys ended up grabbin out a crow bar he had in the trunk. Let's just say it stopped the fight quickly; WITHOUT being swung at all. I think of it more as a "you still want to go?" weapon.

My friend keeps a big croquet mallet in his Barracuda.
First. Make it rain. Compare what it would cost me to buy it back, with how much I can make parting it out very cheaply for parts that are commonly sought for. If the price to part it out is significantly higher (not just slightly higher), I would buy it back and make some money. If it's just body damage and the car still runs, I would buy it back and part it out.. though I'm not sure how easy it is to sell the engine of a 99 a4 with 65k etc..
Second. Milk the Insurance Co. I've heard never to accept their first offer. Show them all the reciepts for any mods on the car that can increase the value. Search the classifieds for your model and year, with similar miles and what they're selling for, to show the insurance company if they try low balling you. If you have service records, include them aswell to show you took great care of the car. Pictures of the car in it's prime help as well. Search for advise to getting more money out of the insurance company.
Third, buy another car.
Lastly, stop assuming.
I've never been in this situation, but thats what I would do if I were. Good luck.

dude, if you have good condition fog lights, send me yours, and I'll send you mine. One of mine has a cracked lense, and if the insurance is taking the car anyway, they won't care if the fog light lenses are broken and frosted from road sand. PM me to let me know. I'll paypal you $ for the shipping.
