O2 sensors??

hey guys ive been getting really bad gas mileage and my mind is set on bad 02 sensor or sensors..how do u check which one is gone bad and or which one can make it have bad gas mileage...i have a 1996 2.8qm

You can check with a vagcom. However, with a 10 year old car, your sensors are probably needing to be changed. There are two pre-catalytic converter oxygen sensors that would need to be changed.

what kinda gas mileage are you getting? what mileage do you usualy recommend to change the sensors at?
