Recently, I've occasionally had incidents shifting to 1st, where the shifter kind of "catches" and then when I rev the clutch burns up. I find it happens sometimes whenever the car is moving slowly (usually in reverse) and I shift to 1st. There appears to be some resistance at times for the shifter to sit in gear properly. It seems to be a definite change from the smooth shifts I am used to. However, this happens only a fraction of the time, and it usually still shifts into gear normally. Is there a crack in a disk plate or something??

 

Come to a full stop in reverse, then go to first.
