Oh Help! What does this alert symbol mean?
I have a 2005 A4 1.8 liter. Today I have a new visual alert symbol and not a clue what it means and of course can't find my manual. The symbol looks like a turtle with an X on his back. Seriously that is what it looks like. My son thought it kinda looked like a light bulb.
But then again I thought the low fuel visual alert looked like a d*ck until I finally figured out it was supposed to be a fuel nozzle.
I started out on slippery roads and drove four miles with no major problems. I sometimes get the flashing alert when I lose traction but that is not what displayed today. Driving home something didn't feel quite right but the roads were bad so not sure if it was the road conditions or a problem with the car. I was trying to drive up a slight incline but no way no how, just slip sliding away. I gave it several tries before I officially gave up. So not knowing if this unknown alert is something serious I called a tow truck but they said until the road conditions improved they would not be out. Great.
My neighbor tried to get it up the incline and I could see the left front tire spinning and right front tire not moving. I left the car parked and she drove me home.
So any idea what this turtle-like alert could be? Or what to do about it?
Sorry I can't explain it better. I'm a nurse not a mechanic.

I downloaded an owner manual and found the alert symbol means "bulb failure: one of the turn signals, headlights, brake lights, rear lights, fog lights or the
rear fog light is not working."
When I last had my car serviced I was told the tread was wearing on the inside back tires. Wondering if I have too little tread overall for the road conditions or if this is simply the way an Audi handles on slippery roads. My Subaru performed better on slippery roads than my Audi is. Wondering how much lighter my convertible is than my Subaru. Perhaps I should use my Subaru for slippery roads and save the Audi for summer.
Feel free to jump in anytime with your ideas.
