Default Oil Leak

Audi just called me, I put the car in the shop this morning, since I found my oil leak after they did a pre inspection buy and gave it a clear go ahead. (Long story)
Told me I needed a cam shaft adjustment gasket. ($900)
Anyone done this repair before?

Uh? $900? Why bother fixing it there? An independent shop will do it cheaply, or do it yourself.

PS: What year/engine/mileage?

Default RE: Oil Leak

The dealership admitted it was a mistake and they should have caught it. I talked to the service manager and he stated that he would do the job for $608, I told him I wanted to split the cost 50/50 he said he could come down to $500 including tax, but thats as low as he could go. I've decided to take it to a local independent dealer in town. He says he will do the job for $350 and all I've heard is good things about him.
I would do this job myself, if I had the time and garage to do it, and maybe a service manual.
