next oil change, switch to synthetic, simple as that...
3k after that, change the oil, and use synthetic after that.
synchetic is good up to higher rpm's... so if you wanted to track your car, synthetic would be perfecet.
it is not that much more expensive...

It depends what engine.
Def NEED synthetic for the 1.8t because of the turbo.
It holds up longer during higher temps.
If its an NA, then regular oil will work fine. Synthetic is OK too, but not neccesary.
