paint swirls
My 2008 was factory ordered from Beverly Hills Audi ... so you'd think they know what they're doing (?) ... but there are swirl marks in the paint (only visible in direct sunshine). Where do these come from ? The factory ? Someone at the dealership using an orbital polisherimproperly, or does it always happen ?
Are swirls common on new cars ? I've been checking out some parkedhigh-end autos that look very new (no plates) and some have swirls and some do not. Does the type of paint or other factory prephave anything to do with it ?
I've heard that a top line detailer can get rid of these swirls. Is this true ? How exactly does that work ? Any info appreciated. Thanks.

RE: paint swirls
the detailer is obviously doing something wrong
take it to a body shop, they should be able to buff it out perfectly
assuming your car is black ?
welcome to owning a black car, the only time it will look great is when it's still wet, or directly after its been detailed

RE: paint swirls
It's the Deep Sea Blue Pearl Effect , which is a very dark blue and a couple of my co-workers mistook itfor black when they first saw it. I didn't even notice the swirls until I washed it yesterday and then the sun hit it.
How does buffing it out work ? Are the swirls tiny scratches in the clear coat and buffing spreads the clear coat around ?
Can anyone recommenda top-line detailer/body-shopin the East Bay (SF Bay Area) that could get the job done?
