My buddy always gets in my car and puts the armrest down... I proceed to smack him in the face and put it back up.
ROFL!!!!! good, he deserves every finger print of it.

This is sort of random, but goes along with the general idea here.....

I had my armrest in the up position and my dog put his paw up and it opened while in the up position

So I pulled over, and went to re-closed it, but a penny had fell into the joint and wedged somehow and i could not get it out with anything so had to have the whole top part replaced.....

So BE CAREFUL and don't put change in the armrest.

i installed the passat cupholders in my B5..they're the most sturdy cupholders i've ever seen...and they fold up out of the way too...i ALWAYS have my armrest down, i can't drive with it up...and i gotta say i have no problem shifting...i do have to SLIGHTLY tweak my arm to set the ebrake, but i can live with that..

for those of you whose lids are stuck open...check for coins or crap in the hinges...just pinch the lid at the base and it will pop out (you need to use some force)
