Default power steering leak

i got a 98 a4 1.8tq with 75k on it and everything is spotless inside and out. Now the other day i just noticed a leak and it looks like a power steering leak. Are there any problems with the 98s and the power steering? I really havnt gotten a good look at it in the daylight so i have not pinpointed the leak but the power steering is the only fluid level that is low. Also where can i find the hydraulic fluid for the power steering? hoping a local auto store has it but maybe i have to go to the dealer. thx

Check the tubing coming out of the reservoir. That area is prone to leaking. Local stores won't carry Pentosin 11s. Going to have to buy it from the dealership or an online store like ECS Tuning.

check the lines right behind ur bumper , where the rubber hose meets the metal line used for cooling(right behind ur raditor on the drivers side) those were leaky on my car.

im gonna go under the car in a min but from the top it looks as if it is the line at the bottom of the resevoir. What do i need to do? tighten the line up or replace it?

depends if the line is cracked or just loose from the shity clamps they use. try to wiggle the hoses to see where it leakin from, u probally only need a few hose clamps and a screw driver

well the problem is worse than i thought. After i got the lower engine cover off i noticed there was alot more fluid than i thought. Its not coming from the resevoir either. Looks as if its coming from the outer steering arm because there is also fluid dripping down the side of the wheel well. Im not too stoked about it but i got a buddy who sais he can put a new steering rack and all in there for $400. Well see whats gonna happen. Gonna have to live with it for a week or so till the next paycheck comes in cauz im outta skrilla....college books are expensive
