Default Power steering leak? Maybe?

Ok... My 97 Audi A4 2.8 has been going through power steering fluid like its going out of style. I fixed the little leak under the resevoir, but it looks like its leaking from behind the right passenger tire somewhere. Has anyone else had this problem? If not I am taking it to Audi. Thanks a lot.

Hopefully, you have only been replacing it with Pentosin 11S, not "power steering fluid" or transmission fluid, If you haven't been using the right stuff, your seals may be shot.

Put the car up on stands and see where the leak is coming from. You could be lucky and it could just be a hose.

I took it in and my rack is leaking. They quoted 1800 parts and labor to replace it. Are there any shortcuts around replacing the whole rack? I just dont really have the 1800 to put into the car. Thanks.

To where did you take it?

If the dealer, take it to an independent VW/Audi mechanic and get a quote. You could also get the parts cheaper over the net.
