Power w/ APR Stage 1+
So I have a 2004 Audi A4 1.8T FWD w/ APR Stage 1+, K&N, TT225 injectors, Forge 007PA DV
My buddy has a 2003 Jetta GLI which is a V6.
When we race, it is pretty close but he eventually starts to pull away from me.
I know he is naturally aspirated with the V6 and I am a Turbo on my I4, but with all the mods I have, the "projected" HP/TQ numbers are supposed to be higher then his.
So here's my thoughts/questions
1) They underrate his Jetta
2) I am not really putting down the HP I should be putting down?
3) Something else?
I know on the roadmap of modding my A4 I plan on doing a Neuspeed cat-back exhaust, POSSIBLY eliminate the cat w/ a downpipe (IF that helps in the HP), Neuspeed Xtreme turbo inlet hose, then eventually swap out for the KKK K04 turbo upgrade with the $199 APR stage upgrade. I'd hope at that point I'd notice a huge difference.
It definatly doesn't feel like going from 170HP/167LB to 229HP/271LB (as APR indicates!) at all.
I feel the improvement, but nothing that massive to justify the jump in HP/TQ

when you were racing did you have the ESP on? if so that will slow you down on launches because it detects that one or more wheels are moving faster than the others (especially if you try to lauch in a FWD) and it will tap the brakes and CUT FUEL TO YOUR ENGINE. this will cause you to lose some power and proper launch.
