problem with the ignition switch
Can somebody help me out here, i want to know if im getting hosed, I found out that my ignition switch had gone bad, and the mechanic said there were two parts to this and that it would fix, he took out the old part and put the new in and gave me a new set of keys but now the problem is worse the car recognizes that the key is in the ignition(therefore radio still running, and not able to lock the doors because of the safety feature), same sound, what i want to know is if he indefinitely replaced the wrong part and is responsable to replace the other part and null the cost on the first repair to the car. As of right now i have turn the key counter clockwise while inserting it to get key completely in, then turn clockwise to turn on the car, then turn back slightly counter clockwise so the key will lock into a position, this is what i had to do before he supposedly fixed the car. I just found out that this is a recall on my car which happens to be a 97 A4 but he has already done work on the car and is expecting payment within the next day or two....Any advise would be great
