I hate to tell you this but pretty much all bulb products will be from the communist country of China.

Default RE: Projector/HID QUESTION

Projectors are the type of lenses inside the headlight housing.

HIDs are the technology that allows a brighter and more natural light to occur with less wattage than your standard Halogen bulbs.

I would stay away from the Ebay projectors/halos. Get OEM or Ecode and make sure they are branded as HID housings/projectors. HIDs require a projector to have the correct cutoff point. I got lucky when I ordered my OEM projectors from ebay, they both ended up being HID projectors, which I then upgraded my halogens to 8000k HIDs with a plug and play kit. (Lookup vvme.com or 'Xentec' on ebay).

TheRIGHT way to do the conversion is get a set of ecode/oem projectors with a aftermarket HID kit. If you do get the projectors from ebay you will probably run into three problems with HIDs.

1.The projector might melt if it was designed for halogens, halogen bulbs are quite a bit shorter than HID bulbs, if the projector wasn't designed for HIDs, the projector will be short as it was designed for Halogen bulbs.
2. Condensation, ebay projectors are cheaply put together and usually not water-tight, I mean you COULD heat up the housings till the glue melts off the exterior lenses, and then re-glue/re-caulk the lenses to get a waterproof seal.
3. GLARE; without the proper projectors the cutoff level is poor, causing your HIDs to glare up real bad. (Think about all those hondas that are running HIDs in reflector based housings.)

Just a quick question, hope it's not stupid...
I have the Xenon's in my '01, when I turn on the lights they look like they are focusing or moving. What's that all about?

I didn't know the 01s had auto leveling.

dkalma: Its your auto-leveling motors, they make sure that your headlights are at the correct level and determine what level they should be at based on the weight inside your car, example: You have a lot of stuff in your trunk, causing your headlights to aim slighty more up than normal, your auto-leveling motors will correct that.

Trey25: I believe that all OEM HIDs are required to have auto-leveling by law.

yea halos are out of the question man. i waited about 3 months til i could find some1 piece projectors in the classifides. spending 500-600 on ecodes is stupid unless youre made of money, just keep lookin on the classifides on here or audizine.com which is used more and be patient. as far as the actual hid kit, vvme.com its the **** and its cheap
