Hid and projector question...
I have a 2001 Audi a4 b5 model. When I purchased this car it came with h7 halogens in the projectors, they fit perfect with a nice beam projection and the aftermarket h7 hid's fit perfect BUT I feel that the hid's are not putting out the correct beam projection. I have read that there are hid spacers that will set the hid bulb back positioning the core the same as if a halogen were in the projector giving more light output? So what I am asking is will adding a spacer make my output better? Or what can I do?
The housing on front and back of headlamps say it's a d2s xenon valeo projector, 2001 Audi a4 b5 if this helps.. I have cut off pictures also but i am having problems uploading them
Thanks, Chris

How is your cutoff? Sharp? Colorful? Spacing the bulb slightly can improve focus of the lamp, but will have little effect on the width of the beam.
The aftermarket H7 HID bulbs are designed so that the capsule will end up at the correct location for the reflector bowl. If you want to check this, place the HID bulb and halogen side by side. The filament should be in the same place as the capsule.
If you want to make a real improvement in the performance of your lighting, you will need to retrofit quality projectors designed for HID rather than halogens.
