Default Put a little green coolant in... (didn't know)

Hi all,

I recently bought a 2004 A4. The coolant level was a little low so I added about one fifth of a gallon of Prestone 50/50. It says that this anti-freeze is 'All Models' and that it can be added to 'Any Color Coolant" on the container.

Is this a problem? Should I empty it all out and replace the coolant? I'm confused now about the 'green' coolant and the 'purple' coolant. I searched some past threads and some said not to mix, but some said this coolant should be ok. I'm taking the car in in 3 weeks for it's 35k tuneup. Can I wait until then?

Thanks for any help!

What type of car...? If turbo, I highly reccomend draining and filling it up with the proper pink coolant.... bottem line if you have a turbo... and care about your car... you will drain it and fill it with the proper coolant..

I've run the green stuff with no issues. I just change it yearly.

The antifreeze that is good for all cars is yellow.

smokeU, G12 pink is OEM. You can switch to Universal yellow by first flushing the system.
