Default Question about a tiptronic 1.8t!

I have a 2003 1.8t but sadly its a tiptronic and not a manual. My question is do you guys think it is worth it to do performance mods, or should I just trade it in and get a manual 2.0T?

Same car as mine. Sexy. But yeah mod it. Many people will flame you for having a tip but its all personal prefrence. Mine is modded and I love it. Good luck.

as long as you keep it under 300ft lbs of tq the tip will be fine, but a manual 2.0T is sooooo much better

If you have the ability/money to go for a b7, there is no reason to stick with a b6 auto unless you really dig the body style. You get 200hp with a stock b7, and a chipputs itat a power leveldifficult& expensiveto get to for ab6.

Many A3 owners who have driven the newer A4's say that the A3 kills it. The size to power ratio is better and the A3's have the DSG gearbox. If you got the cash to throw down, get the A3. I think they're the best looking wagon/hatchbacks I've ever seen.

In response to your question, here are my performance mods.
apr 1+ w/ bosch injectors
apr sport exhaust w/ ecode test-pipe (custom down pipe, must be altered to clear trans.)
APR Snub mount
r1 diverter valve
carbonio intake
modified valve body
modified torque converter
larger trans. cooler
future-
apr front mount intercooler
ko4
I have to admit that in the beginning the trans did feel weak but after some modification I really enjoy the car. Im not a racer and the car is strictly a DD. But on that note the car really performs and is a pleasure to drive. If you prefer a stick, simply trade yours in on one. A swap is ridiculously priced. Too many odds and ends as parts are concerned. It will add up fast. Any way good luck. Any questions,pm me.

id go for the B7 2.0t just because i personally think its a better looking car with a better engine, but if you want to mod you current car go for it, i know a few people that are making decent power with tip, the only thing that sucks about your car is that to the best of knoledge there is not tip chip for your car

there is no reason to go from stage 1+ to a k04. the difference is all of 5-10hp
