can you use xenon bulbs in stock housing/casing if you put higher capacity wires in?

 

Don't know the ratings on stock Audi bulbs, but when I changed the 9004/9005 bulbs with higher wattage Zenons in my Infiniti J30, had to put in an aftermarket harness to bypass the existing one. Fried my connectors (to the bulb) after about a year with the factory ones. Not alot of night time travel either. I think the OEMs were rated at 80W, the Zenons were 100W (or more). Not worth messing with- buy the harness- easy to install.

 

Just go on ebay and buy a "conversion kit"....I paid $239 for mine, plus $15 shipping, then to make sure they were installed correctly, had Cartoys install them for another $150....if you feel confortable installing them yourself, save the installation fee.....only problem with a conversion kit versus stock HID's is, they wont be self leveling. An A4 does not need HID's to have headlight washers....that comes with the premium package or some other package.
