Default question for all you chip owners

anyone else with a chip notice their car studdering when they step on the gas...the rpms still go up and i hit 15 maybe 16psi but i can feel it studdering alittle, or jerking. i hope you know what i mean cuz its hard to describe. i have a 99 1.8 tip with a giac. could it be that i just need to replace my dv. i bought a 710n but it has been too cold to install it, or does it have something to do with throttle position? im just not sure, so if anyone else has this or had this problem let me know..

if you dont have the 710n in and are running giac with stock dv, it is pretty much destroyed.. Change it.. Its not hard and doesnt take long.. Just wrap some knee socks around your nutz and git r done!

Too cold? I did my exhaust when it was 10°. Once you get the front end lifted andthe belly pan off, it will only take 5 min. to swap it out.

This happens to me too. After installing my boost guage I noticed the boost
jumping from 12-15psi. Would this be a bad DV or something else?

lol, knee socks... [sm=goodidea.gif]

I had something like this happen when the car was still cold one day. Since then I make sure to let it warm up some and its never happened since.

I installed the 710N before getting the chip. Never had the problem you're describing. Get that DV installed ASAP!
