anyone knows what wire(s) from the vehicle and aftermarket deck, i have to tamper with in order to get my aftermarket radio to work with the car off. and if so,,,what color is it on the car.. by the way, its a 98.5 a4 1.8t quattro.

Wouldnt you just run the ignition wire into the power wire, instead of ignition? You'd have to turn the deck on and on manually though... because the ignition would have no affect on the head unit anymore.

not sure as to what you mean...the ignition wire from the car harness to the 12 volt wire on the radio harness?
with my old factory radio, i'd turn it on through the power button rather than the igniton anyway, regardless if the car was on or off, so i'm confused as to what you said.

can anyone clarify further PLEASE?

after market uses two different power source one that is always one for backup reason and a ignit so it know when to come on and crap...
