ok ive been having a ton of questions about the KO4 kit from AWE...i was layin in bed and thought o shi t!!! it ofcoarse comes with teh turbo, FPR, spark plugs, and the GIAC ECU...ok now the question the GIAC ECU, most of these ECU are not legal if u got ur car inspected and stuff, but it comes with the kit...is this a different GIAC ECU that would b legal to use...its prolly a stupid question but i never thought about it b4...cuz if the chip is illegal wiht the turbo kit i woudln't buy it...is the GIAC ECU that comes with the "AWE KO4 kit" legal to use and u woudn't get into trouble for inspection?

RE: READ!!!
You are spending too much time staring at the ceiling.
First, the kit doesn't come with an ECU. You get the chip which needs to be inserted into your ECU. None of these kits or chips will cause you to "fail" emission testing. They may however increase emissions over what the car would be without the chip. The chips can't be detected under emission testing and they are not illegal.

RE: READ!!!
from the AWE website-The A.W.E. K04 kit for the 1.8T consists of K04 turbo, A.W.E./GIAC software, 5.0 bar Bosch FPR, all gaskets, and Bosch spark plug set.
Software as in ECU just like a regular GIAC ECU that u would buy 4 about $400...but since this is with the turbo does it make ne difference about it, because ppl always talk about taking it out rite b4 inspection and everything...i would agree with the emmisions part but is the actual software legal?
