Hi all. Have a late 01 a4 1.8. trying to buy a turbo and reading about the car that the red t on the trunk means its a AEB motor and not a AWM. can anyone help. I dont have the car with me. Its girlfriends and parked at her home. I wanted to get new turbo for christmas. Love the site

 

It means the cars going to blow up.....







No really it signifies s-line or sport. It is an awm motor and you can buy any turbo for it. Just depends on how much work you want to do

 

thanx Its my first audi. I found one off a 04 a4 1.8 awd but the motor is a AEB and didnt know if it would fit. I know it would be time to upgrade to a k04-015 but the girlfriend cant drive so she doesnt need more power. I will say after driving it and reading about all the mods I might consider one for my self and sell my 95 super coupe. got to love forced induction

 

Aeb is 96-99.5. Nothing over that. Super coupe?

 

Ford tbird with a super charged 3.8 v6. Stock its 240hp 318 foot pounds torque. with a fully independent rear susp. My last dyno was 290hp 396torque at the tires. But its almost 4000 pounds. I am A transmission builder so its got an automatic with a 2800 stall. It still has lock up so I still get about 26 mpg on the highway. I know its still a POS ford but its fun. The A4 is a tiptronick so I cant really do a bunch of mods. thats why I am not looking for a ko4. Damm I was confused about the Aeb Awm thing thing and missed the auction. I ordered one from the junk yard but when it got here it had to muck play in the shaft. these turbos should have just a touch of in and out play but this one had some up and down movement. I have seen people on this site say that you can find a ko3 used for a couple hundred or less. I have been looking and it seems that I cant do much better then 350. I guess they might be talking about a k03 and not the ko3s. Would I have a issue if I put a ko3 on instead of an ko3s. I know thats going backwords but she drives like a grandma lol. she is driving a mini van now and loves it

 

K03s is really only on the vw's. 01's came with a larger impaller than the previous k03. K04 will only net you 25 hp over the k03


If you want an a4 for you. Get a manual w/ and got gtrs at least. I'll sell you my car. It's quick.
