Hi,
to heat your Audi, you need Webasto.
It is a mini very effective and economic heating.
It functions in all Audi. The engine of the car does not need to be in service!
You can order this heating by a timer, a remote control or telephone

According to Audi you shouldn't allow your car to warm up by idleing. That you should crank it up and start rolling if at all possible. They say to remeber your engine isn't warm and not to beat the hell out of it until it warms up.

Webasto heats the circuit of your engine.
Without your engine functioning, it will be heated by the webasto.
When you start your engine, it is then already heat.
That made less wear of the engine cold driving bus is equal to much wear.

i would say forget about the remote start or webasto. just man up and deal with a little cold for like five. its not like our heat takes forever to kick in. after i drive a few blocks my heat is already on full blast. spend your money elsewhere on a k04 or something...

First thing i do in the morning is have a smoke so i start the car smoke then go in. Since i dont have a nice warm garage to store the car in i want something to warm the outside of the car so i dont spend 10+min. scraping the ice and snow off the car just so i can get in.

A k04 would be great and all, but I have a 2.8. And I think I am just going to stop being lazy, and moved the stuff out of the garage so I can pull my car in. LOL, just forgot about my friend's 2 deer hanging in there, once this freeze is over, he really needs to clean those things, cuz until they are gone, my car isn't going anywhere.

yes it is possible in a non dangerous manner. there is a newer company the name of which i forget but will find out tomorrow as my shop just started carrying them. but the way they work is you have to set the car up to start when you get out of it. the module itself monitors your door triggers, parking brake and foot brake. if forces you to go through a specific sequence in order for the car to be able to be started with the remote. the sequence involves both brakes and the door im not sure of the order yet as ive yet to have a cutomer request one. but after the sequence when you turn the key to the off position and take it out the car will continue to run until you open and close the drivers door at whcih point the car the will turn off. this is to test to make sure the car is not in gear and it will only complete the test if the parking brake is engaged. once that door is closed if it is opened again before the car is remote started but the car is not started the car will not remote start because someone feasably could have come and put the car in gear. so it would require you to start the car again and go through the sequence once more. sounds like it should work out well.
