I have a 2000 A4q. My wheel bearings are shot at 110,000. Can I just get replacements at my local car shop or should I get them somewhere else does it matter? Also how hard are they to replace doing it yourself because if possible thats what id like to do.

 

They aren't that expensive from the dealer, but you can get them from one of our sponsors...
As for putting them in yourself, it's not really difficult, but you do need to be able to press the new bearing in without damaging it. It should be about 1.5 hours of labour at a shop.

 

You can get bearings locally from autozone for cheap. They are all about the same as far as quality goes. How you install them willmainlydetermine how long they last.

 

Ive installed wheel bearing before so I think ill just do it myself. How you know how much they cost.

 

Do you have access to the hub shark tool or a press? It's not going to be easy unless you do.
