Default Retrofit steering wheel...

Hi!

I´ve just bought a 2005 A4 Avant Quattro 2.0 T FSI (B7), great car but it is lacking the multifunctional steering wheel.

My questions:
Is it possible to change the wheel (to an Audi original multifunctional wheel)?
Is the airbag the same?
Is the car prewired for multi?
Is it plug and play or does it require programming?

I can buy a multiwheel quite cheap (w/out airbag) but just wanna make sure it´s not a waste of money.

Anyone knows?
Best regards from a sunny Stockholm!

hmmm I doubt you will find many answers at this point. The car is just too new.

if it's anything like the B5s, it's not very difficult to remove the trim and check for the wiring...

The thing is that the car was new but in stock at Audi. It was not possible to equip it with the multiwheel. I decided to go for this one anyway since it was reduced about 8000$ (the -06 is coming soon). It´s a bit strange but Audi Sweden registers a lot of non-orded cars just to get a high rating in number of "sold" cars. Then they ship these to sellers for a discount price.

The car was absolutely breathtaking; Dolpin Grey, Sportpackage, 18" RS6 wheels... So I had to have her.

I´ll try to check for any cables behind the trim, will report the result.

Does anyone know if the 2005 is prewired for a cd changer in the trunk (I´m considering a Phatbox)?

Thanx.

As far as I know the changer is either an indash 6 disk radio or if you have nav, a 6 disk changer in the glove box. No they aren't prewired like older audis afaik.

Ok, that´s what I thought. Thanx for the info. Then I must get a cd changer harness connected from the head unit to the trunk, ugh, sounds like I have to remove a lot of the interior... Anyone using the Phatbox? Good? Bad? The option is to connect the iPod.

Thanx for educating me. Used to drive BMW 330 Ci before so my knowledge in Audi is fairly limited...
