rev limiter... ?

Default rev limiter... ?

on a 97 1.8t, where does the rev limiter kick in? i was driving around and hit 7000 before i noticed and shifted... where is it supposed to start bouncing?

Damn my b5 is slow..but its not slow enough that I can hit 7k rpm and not notice heh..

well i was seeing how high it would go... usually the limiter is like 300rpm past the redline... i was also checkin how my valve job did, quite well actually... a much easier job than i expected... if anyone wants a step by step on that, let me know... anyway, shouldnt it bounce at 6500?

6500 is red line not the limiter, the limiter is like 6800 or so but its a soft limiter so it will go past it with ease

there is no dead thats it rev limiter? its just soft, so in gear the thing will just keep going and going and going, if one were too ignorant to do it?

what is this i hear about the coil packs melting at 7000 rpm... is this true? cause if it is this thing really needs a rev limiter.

Dont worry nothing is gonna break, I used to 8k rpm everyday for about 8 months before I got rid of that atp beta chip, like was said ebfore, you should have a soft limiter around 6800
