Default Rough Engine Idling

Since I bought my car it has ran quietly. But yesterday when I was driving I noticed that the engine was making alot more noise. At idle it sounds rough but then it continues to get louder until 3000RPM, then it starts to quiet down above that. It almost sounds like a stock car. IDK if this is an exhaust problem or an engine problem. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. oh yeah its a 2000 1.8t w/ a 5 speed. thanks

Any performance problems, or just noise?
