i'm pretty sure that is the small tube that comes from the stock airbox. with a CAI it gets a small filter. not too sure where the other end goes... interesting does anyone else know? DV? Turbo?

 

its a performance breather filter for the engine, since the old air box was remove and that configuration was fitted the filter must have been fitted in stead of running the pipe into the elbow "all that does is feed unused gasses back into the system", normally the pipe would have gone to the PCV valve on the old filter

 

It could also be a filter for the secondary air injection pump. Its hard to see where that pipe goes in the picture.
