oh man, how long have you had ur audi? i did the same thing when i first got mine. The stock clutches are not made to be launched at such high rpms, ur lucky you didnt glaze your clutch right there. But i know how it is when i first got my whip i launched it all the time and ended up having to replace my clutch. Just save up and get a stage 2 or 3 clutch if u wanna be doing 7000rpm tranny drops

Oh yeah when I first read about the quarter I thought he said he dropped it in the oil pan... I was like "Oh my gosh stop driving!!!"

So fine in the crash pan though. Rocks and birds get in there too.

Ha ha one time jiffy lube left a shop rag under my hood... a few hours later I was on the side of the road with the serpentine pulleys jammed up with red fluff... Now that is a pisser.

When do you drop your clutch? 6500RPM? Thats definately not good on your stock clutch.

I've had my car since 05/05/06. But I better bite the bullet and just upgrade the clutch.[:@]

To be honest, I wouldn't be doing clutch drops at 6500 with an upgraded clutch.

So you have been doing that for a month now? Damn... your clutch must be fried.

I don't understand why people like to drop their clutch at like 4-5000 RPM. You are going to burn through your clutch, even an upgraded one will still wear. Unless you are tracking the car, what is the point? I like the occassional 4K drop when I am burning some punk off the line, but to be doing this on a regular basis unless its a track car is brutal.

North5995,

Are you referring to droping the clutch (meaning having it on the floor then just letting go) at 6500rpm to launch the car? or between the gears? Last night was the first time I held it at 6k and let go of the clutch(**big mistake-smelled nasty afterwards**). I usually just spool up the turbo and start off at nothing, release the clutch, then go WOT. But between the gears I release the clutch firly quick to catch the gas, not just release it fully (thought that was bad??).
