I'd go with a pair of 10's or 12's. I've got 2 12's plus 2 1000w amps and still have plenty of space in the trunk. Depending on how much bump you want, pick your watts. I bet 400 would be decent if you're not in need of too much thump; don't let somebody tell you you won't hear anything because of "dampening" just to get you to spend more cash. Used components aren't a bad way to go either as long as they weren't thrashed. Good luck.

It will play a factor. There's a reason a 2000w set up costs more than a 200w set up, and it isn't because the amps look nicer. Sure other factors play a role, and you have to be wary of how companies rate their components, but wattage is a factor.
