sppedtuning ------ wont start
if you have a spinning sound when your trying to start the car then it could be the starter:
The spinning sound you are hearing is caused by a slipping
starter drive (a part inside the starter). This vehicle will not
start with this condition.

you have a dry fuel rail... either you're out of fuel, or your fuel pump isn't sending.
as far a an ignition coil? you can't really diag that until you have fuel... fuel air spark... everything else in in the fine print.

Well if it is an ignition coil your local Audi dealer probably has them instock. They are replaced very frequently from what I was told, I bought my 07 Audi with 5k miles on it last month and two days later the car was stuck with the exact same conditions that you have mentioned. I thought it was fuel related also but found out about this common coil issue.
If your vehicle isn't starting and it sputters while you're trying to start it then its either or bad coil or it could also be a serious ignition problem. This means that either the spark plug wire is bad (Audi's have the coil is right under the plug) or the coil is not providing enough current to the spark plug wire (which would then of course indicate that the coil is bad). That tends to favor the coil being the culprit in this situation simply because coils tend to go bad before spark plug wires.
ARE U SURE YOUR NOT OUT OF GAS!?
