STAGGERED WHEELS?
thanks ... they do look hot. do you know if 225/45/17s will fit on a 17x8 rim (as opposed to 17x8.5)? i'm probably going to throw some winter tires on my stock rims for this winter and then look for a deal on rims/tires for the coming spring.
tire sizes have always confused the heck outa me.

Yeah, a 225/45/17 would fit on a 7.5" wheel, even a 7" I bet. But you'd definately be ok with an 8" or 7.5".
Word of advice on winter tires... in about early september, call up a bunch of tire places, and ask if they'll be buying mass quantities of any particular tire, and what kind of deal they will be having... they might tell you to call back in october or something, so do that... and be one of the first to buy them... you can get smokin deals on snow tires if you buy soon... but if you wait until a single bloody snowflake hits the ground, you'll either have a hard time finding snow tires, or you'll pay an assload for them.

Yep, blizzaks are bloody awesome tires.
Right now I ride nokian hakkepelita's, they are pretty crazy! My dads b6 has pirelli snow's, and the golf has michelin arctic alpins (which are discontinued)
Overall, I put the pirelli's as the nicest outta the bunch... mine are definately the most aggressive for acellerating and cornerning... but those damned arctic alpins brake like no other! I cannot get over how well they slow the car down on the slippery stuff. They are also the best in ice (they really are more of an ice tire, than a snow tire, though).
But yeah, the WS-50 blizzaks are likely as good as any of the 3 in my driveway.... just $$$.
Oh, and my buddy has the goodyear ultragrip 2's or something, they are pretty nice... they like like a rain tire on steroids.
