strange noise when turning slowly
before i start i need you guys to know my car is pretty low and this may be a reason to this issue...
when i turn left (only) slowly my car makes a noise as if my wheels are slowly rubbing against something, but once i speed up (when turning) it stops, only happens when im going slow ... it happens in a motion noise too so it sounds like its happening with the motion of the wheels spinning, the noise is now getting louder and louder the more i leave it off...
what could this be?

it could be rubbing but im thinking wheel bearing. i thought the same thing about my car but i lifted the car up and held the suspect wheels at 9 and 3 and again 12 and 6, gave a little wiggle. i felt play in the right rear wheel, this usally indicates a worn wheel bearing. hope this helps.
i had this same issue with a 99 a4 2.8l quattro and found out later that my front suspension components were worn out therefore butchering my alignement and making it no longer keep allignment. on my car the noise was actually the tire itself rubbing the upper rear control arm and it got worn down to the wires before i realized it (road trip from washington to alaska driving home from college for hte summer) so not only did i get to replace the front suspension but also get a new set of tires. might want to check that out as well
Wheel bearing sounds are constant, theychange pitch and get slightly louder when you turn. I would check for signs of improper toe settings, like feathering in the tires. I think it is tire related, not that you are rubbing. If you were rubbing you should hear it at faster speeds also.
yeah i think so too, it started to happen when i had my tyres changed and it only got worse, its such an embarrasing noise, sounds like my car is farting slowly... i have to accelerate when taking off around corners so the noise goes away...
I know exactly the noise you are talking about. It is very loud inside the car, not sure about how it sounds from the outside. I sprayed silicone lube (very heavy) on all rubber suspension parts; control arm bushings, sway bar bushings, every pivot point I could see. The sound went away completely. Who knows what exactly it was or how long this will work. It might end up being a maintenance thing. Alland any rubber part will eventually dry up, silicone can helpdelay the process.
