I have a recurring sunroof leak problem with my 2002 Avant. I brought it to the dealership a couple of times during my every 10k maintenance and they didnt find any problem. This time they know whats going on. Audi said the drainage is clogged. And to clean this, they said its about 5 hours = 500 bux !!! I also asked if I can clean it myself and audi said you would have to dismantle the sunroof in order to clean it. Not covered by warranty and cannot clean it myself , so do i have any other choice ? isnt this bad design ?

Any thoughts on this ?

Bring the car back to them with the service tickets from your 10k trips that document that you had issues for a long time - funny how they figured out the problem after your warranty expired. If the dealer will not help call Audi of America and demand satisfaction. They may not pay for all of it but I would hope they help out somewhat if you have proper documentation of the problem. Good luck.

 

Should be covered by warranty if the problem developed during the warranty period.
