i have a 1.8T 99 MANUAL transmission. now my question is can i swap out the 1.8t tranny for a S4 tranny with out having any problems. Because i want to change it in the long run but i dont know which tanny i should get to hold more power. any suggestions guys?

 

Well, I have heard that the 2.8 and 2.7t tranny's bolt up, but I dont know. Audiboy1618 did a 2.8 trans swap on his 1.8 and he seemed to like it. Talk to him about it. I wish the s4 tranny would bolt up, that would be a sweet setup for a t3t4.

 

Not trying to jack the thread but you are refering to the 2.7t tranny as the one found in the A6 right? Is that a six speed? Ive heard that the S4 tranny feels "notchy" as compared to the 2.7t one.

 

The s4 tranny is the same that the a6 2.7t 6spd manual has, so wtf are you talking about. I have driven a couple s4's and I think their trannys feel great, not to mention are a 6spd.

 

Its a little notchy but not too bad. Its not really noticibly notchy. NOw the tt trans. Thats notchy.
