Sorry, not from Toronto. I live in NJ, but often get in trouble with my wife when I refer to skiing being comparable to sex. From your name, I take it you know what I mean.
david9999 - i actually live in mississauga, 15 minutes outside of toronto... so kinda close... i took my car to a mechanic earlier in the week, right away buddy is telling me that i need a new wiper motor, costing 200 or so, but thats without even looking at it any further then i did... all i did for the guy was turn the wipers on while he stood there, he saw them move slow to the top and die in the middle... telling me that i needed a new motor mechanism... then he grabs the coolant hose, says it feels too hot and too stiff, telling me i need a thermostat... just feelin a little lost with this car, not sure who's word to trust, ya know... on my domestic car, when something went wrong, everyone knew how to fix it, now i don't want anyone but a pro touching it, its weird... who any good mechanics while living in toronto???
insuite - ya, been a skier since i could barely walk... sure is wicked getting out there on the big runs... here's heaven: hoody in the heli, dropped off in powder, and hoody when u make it down...
gonna go check my engine to see which one i got

Lots of people in the TO area on the forum.
check with them for local suggestions.
The most likely cause of the wiper problem is the linkage mechanism, which loses lubrication, gets hot from friction and binds. If the motor still moves a bit, then it isn't burned out YET.
