I am really looking foward to tip chipping my 01' a4 1.8T and hear it's a blast... but hows the ride and shifting if i am in the regular drive mode? say i am taking my girlfriends parents out or my grandma...something like that... i really like how smooth these tranys are in the regular drive mode. does the chip effect this mode as well? thanks guys... -jet

 

no idea really but one way to try it out is put a 2" heel shoe on and a 1" heel shoe on ant try to walk

 

ya sure..

 

from my understanding it does affect regular D mode when you are driving it hard, but retains the factory smoothness when driving conservatively in D mode. The gear shifts in tip mode are near instantaneous no matter how you are driving, conservatively or not. Thats just what ive read.
