Yeah you read right. When I'm at a stop witht the Tip engaged, the car goes but when I try to shift to 2nd, it's stuck. I have to put it back to regular "D" mode for it to shift to next gear...

 

Then you probably need the shifter sensor assembly. You SHOULD have a fault for it but even if you don't its probably still the sensor.

 

I have a 2002 1.8 turbo audi a4 and my tiptronic doesnt work at all. I shift the **** to the right to engage the tiptronic mode but it doesnt respond it still says in D I dont know what i should do... I just purchased the car and i think the previous owner spilled something in the shifter cause it feels sticky so i pulled it out and sprayed some brake cleaner and blew it out with some air and still nothing...???????? Any help please.
