Tire Pressure Question
Hey everyone new to this forum.
Let me ask a dumb question. I have Pirelli P6 Four Season 215/55-16s on my 2003 A4 3.0 Quattro. Audi recommends 32psi but the Pirelli site says 36 psi. Any reasons why Audi would recommend lower?
Also, I'm less than impressed with these tires. Tread wear sucks and no snow traction at all. My girlfriends Saturn works better and I have all wheel drive!
I live in Cleveland so I need snow traction. I know the best thing to do is get seperate winter/summer tires but I would really rather save the hassle and have all weather tires. Most people I know do and they are fine.
A friend recommended Continental Extreme Contacts as the best he's used. Any comments? Appreciate the feedback!

Living north on Toronto, Ontario... I travel in snow everyday! Do yourself a favour and buy some snows. You've got a great car... don't cheapen it with all-seasons.
I purchased a set of Cooper snows and not only do they work great but the price was excellent as well

im in chicago and for my winter tires/rims i put on some cheap tires called fulda, the guy at ntb said that they are made by goodyear. they handle the snow with no problem plus they have a nice tread pattern that gives good traction in dry weather also only cost me 500 installed for a set of 4
After driving on bald summer tires for half the winter in Ohio I finally got some wintersport m3s on black steelies.
Its no comparison, Id be hard pressed to get her sideways in the snow now.
Also, follow the tire air pressure specs. thats why there on the tire. I'm not sure where you got the audi spec from but its probably for stock tires.

I agree that getting a separate set of winter tires is probably your best bet. However, I have an excellent set of Nokian WR all-seasons, by far the best all-season tires I've ever used. They were recommended to me by an all-wheel drive Volkswagen owner, and I've subsequently recommended them to several other all-wheel drivers; We are all very happy with them. They are towards the premium price range, but well worth it.
