quick tire pressure question...
Hey guys,
Did a quick search, but I'm leaving for the Glen in a few hours so I don't have a lot of time...
What tire PSI should I run at the track? Stick with the standard PSI, or dial it up/down slightly?
Thanks!

You will notice the car will lag more with less air pressure in the tires though. Kinda like how when your bike tires are low or deflated a little its harder to pedal and get up to speed and keep that speed. If you have quattro, it shouldnt be a problem anyway.
What are the reccomend pressures for the tires (from the sidewall)?
Generally, Higer PSI will give you a little better speed at the expense of traction.
If your sliding around too much, then lower the pressure slightly.
I guess you will need to experiment, but probably the PSI you normally run will be fine. Mine state a max PSI of 44, i run about 40. I doubt you would notice much difference with any slight variation in tire pressure.
Any of you autocrossers / trackers care to chime in? What is your racing experience with tire presssure? More PSI for a fairly straight track, less PSI for a very curvy track?

experiment is the word, if sliding for a short time increase the pressure if straight runs 1/4s then reduce the pressure (why) because the tyres heat up very quick which inflates them, remember hot tyres inflate ask the gassers/roders
Thanks for the info guys. I'm gonna top off the PSI to normal before I hit the road, and I'll increase/decrease based on what I'm feeling. It's supposed to rain the whole damn time, so I'm probably going to defer to better traction. Keep your fingers crossed for some sunshine
