Tranny service on 04 A4 FWD 1.8T
So I have noticed (65k miles) that it seems my car can be a little hesitant to get in to 1st gear sometimes. Sometimes I might double-clutch it to get it to go in, otherwise it really resists. Otherwise the car is fine and dealers i let drive it say things are great. Still... I was wondering....
The dealer says the tranny is sealed and NEVER needs service.
If I had an audi professional master mechanic drain the tranny and fill it back up with the exact synthetic fluid that audi recommends, would that be a bad (non-recommended) thing? I am not concerned about the 80 bux or so for the service, more so my tranny. I can't understand how a transmission can NEVER need servicing.
Thoughts?

they are sealed for life ( but what a load of crap ) the gear box oil grade is 75/W90 Synthetic, the filler is a hex bolt and you syphon the old oil out and refill through the same aperture right next to the inner C/V joint

Agree. Never hurts to 1. Check the gear oil level and 2. To replace it and get out the metal shavings in there.
Above rec is the correct gear oil. Pick your synthetic. Most go for either Royal Purple or Mobil 1.
