Ok i needed an ew transmission to be put in. After i had the new transmission put in the car will not move at all. It worked for 5 minutes. Now you turn it on and the car will not move the car seems to be in neutral. And after 1 minute the dash will light up. Any ideea. do i have to reset the computer or something???? Please help.

The service engine soon is just a light to tell you you are due to an oil change.

Who installed the transmission? Did you check to see that the transmission control unit is set correctly for your transmission..

What was the initial problem that you had that you "needed" a new transmission for?

Are the lights on the dash normal for the gear, or are they all lit up in the background with the numbers dark/

 

I found out that audi had a recall on the engine so mine was haveing problem and i got the engine swaped. That was a year ago. Now the torque converter was stuck and the first gear was burned out. A new trans was needed. I took the car to a shop and i bouth the same trans. with the same code. Same year. Yes the car starts and after a minute all the P R N D 3 2 get light up and thats it.

 

Your transmission is in safe mode. You will need to have the codes pulled frm the transmission control unit with a real vagcom. It could just be that the TCU is not set correctly, or one of the sensor cables has not been reconnected. If you had a garage do the transmission swap have them fix it

 

i was told i need to reset the Transmision unit is that done with the Actron tool from autozone??
