Default Trying to change back brakes

Hey guys I need help. My brother in law is changing my back brakes. He is having a hard time getting the cylinder to close, any chance you guys can help me give him some info. He has taken off the lines to relieve the pressure, but still cant get the cylinder to close. Thanks, give me some info.

Gosh, I forgot to tell you that its an a4 1.8 turbo....

You have to rotate the rear cylinders clockwise as you compress them. The first time I did my brakes I used a pair of pliers to do it. But you can find actual tools for this job.
